Climate Change

There is scientific proof that the climate is changing drastically, and soon, the severe consequences of decades of disregard for the environment will affect everyone. This is a non-partisan issue and we must come together to find a solution, and as we only have a short time left to reverse the damage we have done, we must do so soon. Finding a renewable energy source is necessary in order to save our planet and I am willing to raise funding for groups working on this issue. However, it is also on you, the people to reduce your own carbon footprint through small changes that together, make a big difference, including taking shorter showers or not using plastic straws. I would also attempt to pass a law encouraging lesser usage of plastic straws and bags by imposing a tax break on companies that choose a different option. It's not a liberal planet, it's not a conservative planet, it's a human planet. This is a problem we all share and it is a solution we must all share as well.

• Increasing the Use of Renewable Energy Sources

  • We must ensure that renewable energy sources are being implemented throughout the country

  • We must work at the state level to secure renewable energy standards and promote net metering (allowing solar consumers to sell the excess power they generate onto the grid)

  • We must provide incentives for people to incorporate renewable energy sources, like tax breaks and promoting net metering

• Climate Tax 

  • We must tax big businesses that are damaging the environment through their excessive carbon emissions and wasteful habits

  • We must provide tax breaks for businesses that choose to reduce their emissions, cut down on single-use plastics, use renewable energy sources, etc.
