Healthcare

 ​In our country, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. As this gap widens, it is my responsibility as a Senator and as your future president to enforce policies to lessen this divide. By raising taxes on the rich, I will ensure a strong middle class and add billions of dollars into our economy. Currently, the upper class rarely pays enough in taxes while the lower and middle class struggles to pay more than their fair shares. Higher taxes on the rich are necessary to fund programs; when the government funds these programs, they pump new money back into the economy and stimulate economic growth.

• Healthcare for All

  • Affordable, quality healthcare should be a given right to everyone in the United States, regardless of income

  • Nobody should have to choose between their health and financial well being

    • Nobody should be forced to pay out-of-pocket expenses for necessary healthcare

  • A public comprehensive health care option should be available to every man, woman, and child who would like to opt-in

• Choice Between Private vs. Public

  • ​Americans should be able to choose if they want private or public healthcare, instead of Medicare for All

    • This will incentivize private insurers to compete on price and bring down costs

    • This will also reduce the amount collected in taxes because the money only needs to cover the payments for those who need and want medicare for all without unnecessarily including costs for those who choose private healthcare instead

• Public Healthcare Plan

  • The public plan should not be supported by tax revenues or government funding but by premiums and co-payments, so as not to drive private companies out of business​

  • Those that are ineligible for existing public programs like Medicaid should get subsidies to help buy a private or public plan even if they don't have preexisting medical conditions
